Nicholas Trapp, MD

Department of Psychiatry

Dr. Trapp completed his residency in psychiatry at Washington University, joined the University of Iowa Department of Psychiatry the INSPIRE Program and completed a fellowship in neuromodulation before joining the department as an Assistant Professor. He is heading up our cerebellar stimulation clinical trials and is also using TMS to treat traumatic brain injury-induced depression with  Dr. Aaron Boes.

Laren Garrett

Research Assistant

Laren is a native of the Iowa City area and graduated from the University of Iowa with a bachelor's degree in psychology. She has had the privilege of working with adults in an inpatient psychiatric setting here at the University of Iowa Hospital for the last few years. Laren hopes to use her clinical and research experience to contribute to better patient outcomes for those struggling with neuropsychiatric illnesses. She plans to enroll in a clinical psychology graduate program in the future. In her free time she enjoys reading and spending time with her dog.
